Introduction to Specific Learning Disabilities: A Guide for Parents
This session will help parents and caregivers build a deeper understanding of specific learning disabilities (SLD), including key characteristics and effective ways to support learning. It begins with a clear definition of SLD then explores common characteristics. Participants will also learn practical accommodations and strategies to support students with SLD.

This session focuses on the foundational relationship between speaking, listening, and early literacy. It is designed to provide parents and caregivers with actionable tools to better support learners with diverse needs as they develop these critical early skills.

Supporting Your Child in Math: Understanding Challenges and Building Strong Foundations
This session will provide parents and caregivers with an overview of different challenges that students might experience in math paired with practical and effective ideas for supporting the development of foundational math skills at home. Participants will also be introduced to the Illinois Dyscalculia Handbook and its resources for parents and caregivers.

This session helps parents and caregivers understand which study strategies are most effective for improving learning and retention. Participants will explore what works, while also addressing common study habits their children may rely on that are less effective. The session focuses on practical application, providing caregivers with ready-to-use tools and resources to support strong study habits across content areas.
